October 25th: Cross Country Practice and Robotics Fundraiser

Today was not bad.

For the Robotics Fundraiser today, I wasn't expecting to help out, but I still did anyways because Finance Club was cancelled today. There was a representative from UC Santa Barbara speaking in the same room which Finance Club normally takes place in, so the representative took precedence over Finance Club.

Anyways, in the Robotics Fundraiser, I helped tally the sales again. I took over the shift of my other friend who wanted to go see the presentation from the representative from UC Santa Barbara. We still made good sales, but we still have a bunch of stock left over. Hopefully we can continue selling at some point! I don't want all of the snacks we bought to go to waste.

Anyways, from Cross Country Practice, we did our regular mile warm up and exercises. Then, we ran a 3.2 miles (pretty much a 5k). The weather was nice and cold, which was a nice change. We ran from the shoreline and back. The 5k today was for deciding placement in Varsity and Junior Varsity teams. I think I'm still on the Varsity team. According to my watch, I got a new 5k time (25' 58"), but for 3.2 miles, I ran it in 26' 56", but I'm not sure why there's such a disparity between the two times. Perhaps I stopped my watch late?

We have a meet this Saturday, and it's the last race before the finals! I'm not sure how finals work, but hopefully I still do well on the race this weekend!
