Today was very fun.
I went to the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japantown, San Francisco today. It was a very new sight to me; I've never attended anything like it before. We first went around the mall to see the various booths, shops, and items being sold. There was a lot of Japanese items being sold, which I've never seen before. I don't think I've seen a mall that packed! I almost got lost in the sea of people.
Then, we went to see the parade. It was very packed, but fortunately, we got a view closer to the street. There were a lot of dances, bands, cars, famous people, organizations parading. I think it's the first parade I've seen since I was 5? 7? in Disneyland. It was pretty cool.
When the parade was finished, we made our way through the sardine-packed sea of people to grab lunch. I got a chicken karaage curry over rice, which was a new taste for me that I enjoyed.
After lunch, we went outside, after the parade had cleaned up, and saw a rendition of Howl's Moving Castle, which brought back memories from our attempts during sophomore year. After touring the other booths, we hopped back on the bus to return home.
A very fun day exploring!
Thank you for your time,
