Today was good.
In the morning, we woke up a bit earlier to make it to Caltopia with our GBO group. There were so many free things! I'm very amazed by all of the things available. For example, IKEA had many mugs, towels, bags, etc. Pepsi was handing out a lot of their drinks, so I snagged a lot of soda for myself. Fritolay also handed out a wide variety of the chips they offered. There were a surprising amount of coupons that weren't bad. It was cool seeing so many companies and getting more free stuff. My only regret is not getting more free stuff!
After a small break and getting lunch, our orientation leaders brought us to Emeryville. I had only driven by it before, but we went to the Emeryville shopping center. It was amazing! We went to the Powell Street Plaza right before it first. I went by Daiso to look around and I bought some plates and other trinkets. Then, we crossed over to the actual Emeryville Shopping Center. We compared it to Santana Row in San Jose, just a bit less bougie and expensive. We went into Miniso and I bought something special for someone special to me. This excursion was really fun! After walking around enough, it was time for us to wait for the bus.
Unfortunately, the bus was full and it skipped us! After waiting for a bit and devising a plan, we ended up taking a different bus that took us on a longer route, but at least we were brought way closer to campus.
For dinner, we ate at the food trucks that were serving food on campus. I got a really, surprisingly delicious lamb over rice.
