Today, I survived.
In the early morning at 5AM, I continued writing the blogs that I failed to finish the day of, which was a lot! I'm happy to say that they are all released now. You might be asking to me, "Issac, you don't write your blogs the day of?" Well, I write an unformatted summary of the day as a placeholder if I don't have time, and I didn't have time the majority of the last two months; college has been busy! It is only now as time becomes more available since finals are coming up (no classes) that I am able to finish the formatting for my blogs and officially publish them. I apologize for all of the delay!
Anyways, when I had done enough work and was feeling pretty sickly from staying up for so late, I went back to my dorm and laid in bed for a little, just for a bit of a physical rest. Fortunately, I only intended to lay in 10 minutes, which I am proud of committing to. After brushing my teeth and washing my face, I left my dorm to do the one thing I've been wanting to do all semester long: getting Avocado Toast from Brown's.
Interestingly enough, the other days this semester, I haven't been able to wake up early enough or cared more about getting sleep to not end up walking across campus to get the Avocado Toast from Brown's. However, this morning, since sleeping would be incredibly dangerous to my schedule, it was a good day to get it. When I stepped outside, it was so cold! I wasn't the best dressed, but I still embarked my journey across campus to get Brown's.
I was delighted to see that Brown's was open this early. After placing my order and receiving it, I opened up the box to see the meal I've been thinking about all semester. It was a bit difficult to bite into it; the crust was a bit tough. The arugula salad was a nice touch, and seeing two eggs was nice. Things didn't really hold together well in my avocado toast, but it was still really good; I missed eating avocado, and seeing whole fried eggs was nice, as well as the zesty notes from the lime/lemon they used. The bread quickly got soggy because it wasn't toasted enough, though. I would still call this breakfast pretty worth it, 7.7/10. I got my avocado toast with tea since I wanted to sleep right after classes, but this ended up being a blunder.
I had to take my avocado toast to go since my last calculus class was starting soon. Unfortunately, I was so tired, that I kept falling asleep during lecture; it was frankly embarrassing how much I wasn't paying attention. I didn't really get a lot from the lecture.
Then, I had to endure my online writing class in MLK, which felt so long. Finally, when my class ended, I took a nap before my lab. I overslept, but fortunately by just a little; my alarms couldn't wake me up. I had to attend this lab to max out my lab points, so I had to sprint across campus to make it to lab in time.
After lab I got thai food from foothill which was not particularly bad. Then, I went back to my dorm. Though I tried to stay up and do a little bit more homework, I ended up sleeping for a long time, past the beautiful sunset that everyone was raving about. After some meetings I had dinner at croads. Once I was satisfied with dinner I took a shower, and finally got the sleep that I needed so badly. Fortunately, my morning discussion was already cancelled tomorrow, so I had the opportunity to really sleep in.
Thanks for reading,
Issac
