Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
I woke up later than I wanted too, which means I got more sleep, but less time to get ready before work. My brother came back to spend the day with my grandparents, because they also needed to buy groceries for Christmas dinner tonight.
Once again, we arrived to work earlier to get ready. Like yesterday, there were a lot of orders to organize before the lunch and dinner rush. I continued to clean up where I could and help out before we officially opened. Today was even busier than yesterday. Lunch was survivable. I didn't even do my regular walk during my lunch break; I just sat and rested.
During dinner, I began to see just how much busier we were than yesterday. At one point, all of the dinner tables were filled, and we had a couple reservations to fulfill. We still had many party trays to make even when we were about to close, and we had to stop accepting orders pretty early on into the dinner service. I feel bad for the people that had to wait so long for their orders; hopefully next year will be better.
Then, once we were finally finished, we had lots of family come into the restaurant for our own Christmas dinner. It was very good, but my father and aunt were definitely tired after the business today, as well as having to cook for our family.
At least I don't have to go back to work at the restaurant for the rest of the year!
