Today was cool.
Today was the final day of Sunset Showdown 2025. I went to help mentor for my high school's robotics team, LionBot Robotics. Fortunately, this morning, I woke up on time and made it to school on time. On this day, there weren't many people coming today, and I found a comfortable seat on the van. On the way there, I played on my Nintendo DSi on Download Play with my friend Daniel. It was fun playing new games on the DS.
After we arrived, I saw the farmer's market and was intrigued. After stretching our legs, and upon entering the event, the playing field and pits were closed, so I went to visit the farmer's market. It was really cool seeing all of the different foods, the different pop up shops, and at the end of the street, all of the fresh produce and flowers that the farmers were selling.
Finally, after the event truly started, and the robot was checked over, the team began competing. I subbed in to coach since the primary coach wasn't present. The final matches were cool to see.
Shout out to Simon from team 6619 GravitechX, it was a pleasant surprise to finally meet you!
The event was good and the team met their goals. They ended up placing 22/29, which isn't the worst placement we've ever achieved. The team is really stoked to try to convince the mentors to get swerve drive to improve our performance. On the way back, they were discussing on the best ways to convince them.
After a quick dinner I rode on my bike to visit someone special to me that I hadn't visited in a while. It was nice.
