Today was rather sentimental, emotional, bittersweet, but ultimately celebratory.
It was the last day of senior year, the last day of high school, the last day as part of the K-12 public school system. I am so happy to have known the people I've gotten to know throughout my senior year, my years of high school, and the couple I'm graduating with since 5th grade, and some even since elementary school. I truly cherish the experiences I've had with all of them and I really appreciate that I've been able to graduate with the class of 2025 at my school. It's been so fun and high school wouldn't be the same with them. Every person in my class contributes to a unique trait/identity in my graduating class. Thank you for everything, everyone.
I tried getting more yearbook signatures today. In 6th period, we had a potluck, but it quickly got overrun by many other people. I think I really wanted to cry when school ended since it was just so emotional since we had to say bye to some of the best people we've ever known, but I didn't end up tearing up at all.
After I walked home to drop off my belongings, change, and pick up a lighter load, I went to Saul's house to depart for the senior sunset location, the Alameda beach. We went to another part of the beach, away from where most other seniors were since we wanted to grill. I appreciate the invitation and Dario and Patrick for driving us all!
Saul was a chef and I sat down and hung out.
After the festivities and the food was wrapped up and the sun had set, we left for Round 1. It had been quite a while since I went there. We did some arcade, and even though we wanted to bowl, we ended up playing some pool instead. I unfortunately, was not very good, and in the hour slot we had, I only got one ball in.
Today was a really awesome day, a nice way to end the day off. Even though I have to say goodbye to all of the folks that I've gotten to know for the past large portion of my life, which is really sad, I'm also really happy that I got to spend it all with these people.
Thanks for all the moments I've had with the senior class of 2025,
Issac
