January 4th: Driving, Haircut, and Hot Pot

Today was nice.

My father came back from work early in the morning because now, he has people in the restaurant to hold down the fort when he's gone!

So, since I woke up late, we got sushi for lunch. I ordered us a couple different dishes than usual, so lunch was pretty nice. Then, after dropping my grandparents off, my dad let go of the wheel and gave me the opportunity to get some practice driving, which I really need; I actually have an appointment to take my behind-the-wheel driving test in a couple weeks before school, so I'm really hoping to ace that! I'm really excited to get my license.

After driving my dad around a bit to complete an errand, we went to get a haircut. After the haircut, I drove us home. I got a little bit of work done in the meantime while we were waiting for dinner.

For dinner, we had hot pot! I haven't had hot pot in a while so I was very excited. We had hot pot with some close people from the restaurant as well as my uncle. Disappointingly, there weren't enough oysters at the supermarket, so I only got to eat one, but I'm still happy. The broth was just a basic chicken broth, so to get a bit of spice, I also got some LaoGanMa. The meal was really warm and comforting, and I was so stuffed afterwards!
